Summer makes us think of Pink Lemonade

courtesy of Pinterest: its the law!

Thank you to all our wonderful supporters who made this free mammogram day possible. THIRTY mammograms in one day! That is so cool~ You guys ROCK!

Please know that all of us at Team Towanda take our responsibility to our donors very seriously. We are well aware that you have many charities to choose from, and we are truly honored when you choose Team Towanda Foundation.

We do our very best to ensure that your hard earned money is used wisely to benefit as many women as possible.

We still clip coupons to purchase supplies, arm-twist vendors for the very best deals, and after 11 years we remain a 100% volunteer organization.

Not one penny goes to salaries or professional fundraisers.

It's still five friends around a kitchen table trying to promote the importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer.

Our goal is to make life even a tiny bit easier for the Pink Ribbon Warriors who have been drafted into the club nobody wants to join.

    Dear Judith:

On behalf of the Women’s Center for Wellness, I would like to extend our sincere appreciation for Team Towanda’s support of the Women’s Health Free Screening Day for Uninsured Women. This event, which was held on Saturday, April 27, 2013, provided mammograms to 30 women through the generous donations made by Team Towanda to ECHN.

As you know, these exams are vital to women in the early detection of breast disease. Many of these women had gone several years without a mammogram and they were all very appreciative of the opportunity that was provided. Without generous donations such as yours, uninsured women in our community would be unable to receive such needed services.

I look forward to our continued working relationship in providing services to women in our community.

    Kimberley R. Palma
    Operations Manager

Save the date: October 25 at the Wethersfield Community Center.

It will be reserved seating which means we won't be able to sell as many tickets as we usually do for the FUNdraiser, which always sells out. So... take it from someone who has the inside scoop: NOW is the time to figure out who's going and plan to purchase your tickets as soon as they go on sale. (Date TBD) Tickets will be $25 with no limit on the number of tickets per order. This event is BYOEVERYTHING.

We're going to give it to you straight like your best friend would: The FUNdraiser we host every two years is our biggest source of income. Unfortunately, women need access to mammograms and breast services EVERY year. The goal of The Too Too Funny Comedy Night is to pay for services in our Non-FUNdraiser years. (Please don't suggest we do the FUNdraiser every year. The entire TTF Board will either burst into tears or go screaming into the night. 'Nuff said.)

How can you directly help these women in need of care? By signing up as a Sponsor of the Too Too Funny Comedy Night! We have three very affordable sponsorship packages available:

  • Our $100 Friend of Towanda package will get your company logo out there as a proud supporter of TTF and allow you to provide your advertisement to all attendees.

  • Our $250 Bosom Buddy package includes more advertising opportunities PLUS two paid reservations to the Comedy Night - A $50 value. It's like it's on sale!

  • Our $500 Towanda BFF sponsorship includes a table for marketing in the Community Center lobby plus even more ways to put your business and logo out to all attendees and in our event advertisements. This package also includes a reserved table for SIX worth $150!!

  • Please note: Due to space limitations, the number of BFF Sponsorships will be limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

We hope to involve as many of our friends as possible to network and promote your business or service to this incredible group of high energy girlfriends. You benefit, they benefit, and best of all, the uninsured underserved women in Greater Hartford benefit big time. Please see our website for more details!

Summer makes us think of Pink Lemonade

As June winds down, we slip into summer, and we all kick back, slow down, and life is more relaxed. We let things slide. The one thing you can't let slide is scheduling your annual mammogram! If you are due, just make the darn call and that annoying little voice inside your head that you hear every time you see a pink ribbon will go away. When you're done, celebrate with a tall glass of pink lemonade and a call to an old friend you haven't spoken to in a long time.

Enjoy your summer and stay tuned for more details about upcoming events!

Wishing you all the breast ~
All your girlfriends at Team Towanda,
Alison, Judith, Monica, Deb and Ellen
