"What do Halloween and breast cancer have in common?"
They both scare the hell out of me!
Raise your hand if you love dressing up on Halloween.
Raise your hand if Halloween is one of those holidays you just “don’t get’.
Okay, while your hand is up, do a quick breast self exam and “check your humps for lumps.” Okay, that was the trick. Now for the treat!
Don’t you just LOVE a sale??
The FUNdraiser is Coming!
Everyone at Team Towanda LOVES presents! As a thank you present to everyone who helped us add OVER 600 new Facebook followers this month, we are having a SALE on cookbooks!
From now until the end of October you can save $5 off the regular price! This is the perfect time to pick up that hostess gift you are going to need over the holidays AND you can chip in a little to fund free mammograms at the same time!
You save, you share, you knock something off your ‘to do’ list. What’s not to love? "Click here".
Do you know where your boa is?
A Sprint to the Finish Line!
We’ve got the date, we’ve got the place, we’ve got the music. Food, speaker, decorations; check check check!
Now what we need is your help to make it a success! The tea cup auction at the FUNdraiser is the heart of the fundraising for this event.
We know it sounds like it’s still a long time away, but now is when we need to hear from those of you who plan to donate! Items must be received by February 29, but it is a huge help if we know as soon as possible what items will be
If you would like to support this evening of health, hope, help and happiness by donating an item to the auction, please contact Jill Smachetti, 2012 FUNdraiser Committee Chair at (860) 604-6433 for more information or for local
pick up arrangements.
Please check out "Call for Auction Donations" for details.
We have just a couple of days left to take advantage of the generous offer made by one of our favorite “Underwire Guys” (he’s oh so supportive and close to our hearts).
New for 2012... Sponsorship Program!
He pledged a 25-cent donation for every NEW Facebook follower we add during the month of October.
The 600 we’ve added so far means a $150 donation to help fund mammograms for uninsured women!
These next few days will be a big big push to see how many more we can squeeze in before the end of October.
To get every last one we can, we need to think like those mammogram technicians who tell us “just a little more, a little more….THERE, I got it!”
Please please repost, repost, repost on your "Facebook" wall and add a note asking others to do the same. Thanks!
Team Towanda Foundation is committed to keeping 2012 FUNdraiser tickets at $50 per person, the same price since 2007.
Our event is unusual in that it makes NO money on ticket sales; $50 barely covers expenses. We strive to keep this event as inclusive as possible and still achieve our goal of raising funds to provide mammograms for uninsured women.
We run a tea cup auction rather than a silent auction that would exclude women without the means to participate in a spirited bidding war. But even though it is a fundraiser, sometimes it’s just not about the money.
Some of the women who need to be there the most are the ones least able to afford it. Our goal is to level the playing field so that every woman in the room is on equal footing. Why? Because cancer is the great equalizer, my
friend. We are counting on those who are able to help us find ways to keep the event accessible and ticket prices down.
Prices for everything have gone up with the exception of the amazing food provided by our wonderful friends at "The Spicy Green Bean Deli and Catering Company" who haven’t raised prices on us in years.
To maintain ticket prices, we are reaching out to our friends in the business community with a Sponsorship Program designed to help you and your company reinforce your position as a market leader in exchange for helping to defray some of our extensive FUNdraiser costs.
Sponsorship fees range from as little as $100 up to a $10,000 Platinum Level Sponsorship.
Please visit "Sponsorship Opportunities" for more details and email us if you would like to participate!
Thank you all for all your continued support.
